Education and Prevention

Harbor House has made great strides in creating special programs geared to preventing the escalation of domestic violence.

Harbor House provides professional education about domestic/family violence to law enforcement, health care, social services and human resource professionals. The specialized training includes successful ways to deal with victims and abusers. In addition, the program sheds light on the warning signs to detect if abuse is present in a home situation.

Harbor House staff and trained volunteers facilitate educational presentations to the community at large. These presentations are delivered at no charge and highlight facts about domestic violence as well as the role of Harbor House in the community.

Harbor House also offers free monthly educational presentations on the Dynamics of Domestic Violence. Contact our Community Education and Prevention department for more details.
