WHY VOLUNTEER 2010

Reason #1      Your belief in the mission.

By volunteering with Harbor House, you are standing with us in the fight against domestic violence whether you are working directly with the survivors or behind the scenes.

Each role makes a difference, each role is equally important, and each role leaves a legacy of hope.

Reason #2       Your community.

It takes an involved community to end domestic violence. By volunteering with Harbor House, you are joining hands with others, who have the same heart as you – people who are actively working to make a difference. Not only that, you build positive relationships that last beyond your work with fellow volunteers.

Reason #3       Your time is valuable.

How can one calculate the value of your time? For each hour you volunteer, you are saving lives. You could be the first voice heard through the hotline, the first to educate someone about the reality of domestic violence or the first to make a positive impression of the agency at a special event.

Your time cannot be calculated because saving lives is priceless.
