Children’s Shelter Services Manager
This manager is responsible for the programming, operation, and administration and all services related to children including the Harbor House of Central Florida childcare facility and programs provided to the children residing at the emergency shelter.
This position oversee the trauma informed care, safety and recovery of our smallest survivors. Please read the position requirements carefully and submit a resume online.
Educational and/or equivalence in experience requirements:
Minimum of certification as a Child Care Director (or willing to complete at own expense within 6 months) an undergraduate degree in Social Work, Counseling, Education or related field is required with a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience of staff working with children. Professional coursework in child growth and development is required. Professional experience may be substituted for formal education at the discretion of the Chief Executive Officer.
Requirements: Valid Florida Driver’s License and cover-able by agency insurance. Completion of CORE Competency training within 30 days of hire is required.
Development Officer – In Kind & Volunteers
Harbor House is seeking a full-time Development Officer for In-Kind & Volunteer Coordination. This position will develop and manage tangible goods and services for the agency as well as the planning, implementation and monitoring of the agency volunteer program.
Education & Licensing Requirements: Bachelors degree preferred (preferably in Public Relations, Marketing or related field). Professional experience may be substituted for formal education at the Chief Executive Officer’s discretion.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years working in a supervisory capacity with volunteers.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing required.
- Ability to organize and write reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, volunteers, and the general public.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and utilize time and resources effectively.
- Ability to solve practical problems.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions when furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
Work Hours:
Full-time Employee will work a 40 hr week that includes weekends as needed. Exact work hours will be discussed during employee interviews.
Shelter Services Advocate
Harbor House is seeking an experienced, dynamic individual to provide advocacy, support, crisis intervention, safety planning and lethality assessments to survivors of domestic violence residing in the emergency shelter. This advocate will also respond to calls for crisis intervention in the community.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of an undergraduate degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field. Professional experience may be substituted for formal education at the discretion of the Chief Executive Officer.
This position requires knowledge of case management skills, the ability to provide effective and immediate crisis intervention for clients, and to facilitate support groups. Basic to intermediate computer skills are required. A minimum of one year of case management experience preferably in a domestic violence program.
The following shifts are available:
Friday – Sunday 7:00am – 8:00pm (Full-Time)
Monday-Friday 5:00pm-9:00pm (Part-time) – Bilingual Preferred
