Community Education & Training Coordinator

This position is  responsible for the development, implementation and provision of comprehensive community education awareness programs to individuals, professionals and the business community in their efforts to increase their capacity regarding domestic abuse policies and recognizing and responding to abuse, and referring survivors to assistance programs. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Social Service field, Public or Community Relations required with 3-5 years experience in the development, facilitation and presentation of training programs and public speaking . The successful candidate must possess extensive knowledge of adult learning theories and appropriate use of a variety of training methods. Preferred: Specialized degree in Training and Development or other relevant field (i.e. Education). Extensive knowledge and experience in the Domestic Violence field.Professional or non-professional experience may be substituted for formal education at the discretion of the Chief Executive Officer.This position requires strong public speaking and presentation skills. Knowledge of training/education techniques required. The ideal candidate will possess strong motivation, initiative, attention to detail, and a friendly and customer focused attitude. Intermediate to advanced computer skills are required.

Grant Coordinator

Harbor House is seeking a highly skilled professional to be responsible for preparing funding proposals to both government agencies and philanthropic foundations.  Monitor activities to support the on-going programs/operations, special funding needs, and financial growth of Harbor House of Central Florida. Gathers outcome/output data used for evaluation purposes.  Compiles data and success stories that report the return on investments as required by deadlines provided by each individual grant funder, as well as sharing impacts voluntarily with all grant funders. The position requires degree in Public Relations or Communications, 3-5 years’ experience with a proven track record in writing and proposal development. Knowledge of government funding and non-profit organizations preferred. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Advanced computer skills with knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing required.  This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate.
